Our approach

Over the years we have developed and refined a unique approach to business improvement.

The approach is defined in a comprehensive Business Management System - known as RAPID. This System serves to simplify the route forward for businesses. It “cuts through the fog” and puts all business related activities and initiatives into one simple business management system that it easy to apply.

RAPID is a totally ‘end results’ driven approach - i.e. where improvement actions are put in place that are necessary to deliver desired business results covering both financial and non-financial perspectives. This approach eliminates piecemeal business improvement initiatives and training for training’s sake.

It is a system that we use internally within our own business and as such it is continually improved to ensure that it stays at the leading edge.

The system is built around three inter-linked components - Assessment, Planning and Deployment as shown in the following schematic:-

Review mechanisms are in-built throughout the overall system.

Assessment - “Where are we now?”

This is a highly structured review that can be carried out against a recognised business model such as Malcolm Baldrige, European Excellence, our own internal business model or one that is specifically designed for your organisation.

It provides you with the basis for measuring and relentlessly driving both step change and continuous improvement on a year-by-year basis.

The assessment can be done in a variety of ways based on a discussion with you at the outset. The most popular approach is for clients to conduct the assessment themselves with facilitation from our Managing Director - this approach is extremely high on skills transfer.

Planning - “Where do we want to be?”

This part of the system takes into account everything that has been covered in the Assessment process plus factors that are external to the current business - such as acquisition and merger activity.

bullet

It provides the means for identifying the 'vital few' actions necessary to relentlessly drive up customer satisfaction, employee motivation & satisfaction, market share and business results.

Deployment - “How will we get there?”

bullet

In this part of the system, 'vital few' actions are converted into team and personal goals for all employees.

The approach is based on communication and negotiation at each stage - which generates high levels of commitment and enthusiasm.
